Solid Waste Collection and Disposal
For 29 years, MDI has been a proven leader in the collection and disposal of solid waste by providing award winning service to the Department of Defense. Having preformed more than 40 contracts with consistently high customer satisfaction, MDI has become the preferred choice for military installations across the country. Our collection capabilities include both main base and Military Family Housing (MFH) areas using state of the art equipment.
Recycling Collection
Collection of recyclables on main base includes desk side office containers as well as industrial materials such as wood, metal, and cardboard. MFH recycling is performed curbside at the residences for convenient collection.
Recycling Center Operation
MDI has developed a unique recycling program that has been beneficial in meeting diversion goals established by the DOD through a central source of collection, segregation, and marketing, whether or not operating facilities are conveniently located on base or locally.
Landfill Operation
MDI has more than 20 years of landfill operation experience, from small inert landfills processing land clearing debris and lime sludge deposits, to C&D and MSW landfills processing more than 15,000 tons of solid waste per year.
Roads Maintenance
MDI provides a complete line of services including roads stripping, sign construction and maintenance, hot and cold patch repair, street sweeping, and snow removal.
Grounds Maintenance
MDI professional grounds services are directed by a highly trained, experienced horticulturist. Gardeners and grounds keepers maintain everything from golf courses and sports fields, to prestigious lawn and flower beds, to heavily wooded forest areas and large tracts of grasslands. Our philosophy is to consistently improve, rather than simply maintain your grounds.
Our landscaping team can design and build eco-friendly, aesthetically pleasing landscape features to enhance any area and provide long term cost savings to the customer through the integration and use of local plant species.
MDI's Integrated Pest Control Services program provides cost-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions for large-scale pest management. Designed to help preserve natural resources and prevent waste and pollution, MDI encourages government agencies, and other entities to make more holistic decisions regarding their practices and purchases and their associated impacts on land, water, and air.
Our Integrated Pest Control Division conducts a wide range of pest management and eradication services through an optimum combination of control methods including biological, cultural, mechanical, physical and/or chemical controls to reduce pest populations to an economical acceptable level with as few harmful effects as possible on the environment and non-target organisms
In 1990, MDI moved into the lumber and building material market through a venture with a local area business partner. With the primary focus originally on retail sales of salvaged building material, and the production of molding and millwork products, the strategic shift is moving towards large volume, long term contracts providing lumber materials to the U.S. Government.
